Even if your man didn’t take the route of asking for your families blessing or hand in marriage (maybe he already knew he had it), many couples do want the “traditional” blessing that goes along with a customary church or house of worship ceremony.

On the other hand, many couples may not want to exchange vows in a church, temple or other house of worship, but instead opt for an outdoor or exotic venue such as a vineyard, beach, or far-off island.

However, many faiths frown upon such unions. In fact, while you just might be able to find an officiant to oversee your religious/spiritual union, it may not be the priest or pastor of your choice, your congregation or parish, as many won’t sanctify a union that doesn’t takes place in a “holy”, hallowed place.
